LYNNWOOD — A 22-year-old man was arrested Tuesday night after police reportedly saw him snatch a woman’s purse and run.
Snohomish County sheriff’s deputies were patrolling Highway 99 in the Lynnwood area around 8 p.m., bureau chief Kevin Prentiss said.
Deputies allegedly saw the man approach a 56-year-old woman in a grocery store parking lot and forcefully take her purse. The woman was not injured, Prentiss said.
The man was arrested less than a minute later and was booked for investigation of second-degree robbery.
He reportedly told the deputies that he robbed the woman because he was homeless and hungry.
