MUKILTEO — A 25-year-old man was behind bars Monday after he reportedly was chased by troopers before flipping his sport utility vehicle and running for the woods in Mukilteo.
The commotion started just before midnight Sunday. The Washington State Patrol had followed a man in a Lincoln Navigator into Mukilteo. The car was reportedly going 120 mph on Highway 526.
A Mukilteo officer saw the Navigator go by without lights on in the 7600 block of 44th Avenue W, officials said. The SUV then hit a brick pillar and landed on its side. A man inside then ran from the car and was later picked up with the help of Edmonds police.
He was booked into Snohomish County Jail for investigation of eluding a police vehicle.
The investigation into the crash continued Monday night, officials said.
