SNOHOMISH – The man yelled “pull” every time he fired his shotgun at the empty house, a witness told police.
The gunman said he had to stop the homeowner from wrecking other people’s lives, but the victim told police the suspect had been harassing her since she refused to have sex with him in exchange for $3,000, according to court documents.
Snohomish County sheriff’s deputies arrested the man, 51, Saturday night for investigation of drive-by shooting and being a felon in possession of a firearm. Bail was set at $25,000 Monday in Everett District Court.
A witness reported that the man fired three rounds from his gold BMW at a house in the 6200 block of 135th Avenue SE and one shot at a horse pasture.
No one was home at the time of the shooting, and no one was hurt.
Police caught up with the man at Highway 9 and Marsh Road and found a shotgun and box of ammunition on the passenger seat, court reports say. They also reportedly found several empty beer cans in the back of the car.
The man was arrested without a struggle. While he was carted off to jail, the suspect yelled that the homeowner has destroyed many lives, and he had to stop her, a police affidavit says.
The woman alleged to police that the suspect had been harassing her and broke the windshield of her van two weeks ago.
