MARYSVILLE – Police said they have arrested a Stanwood man they believe is connected with an April 2005 killing.
During the three-year investigation into the slaying of Charles Raymond Hughley III, 39, Marysville police have worked with the Washington State Patrol Crime Lab to process evidence, Marysville police Cmdr. Ralph Krusey said.
Hughley’s body was found by police inside an abandoned Marysville home. The Snohomish County Medical Examiner ruled that Hughley died from sharp force injuries.
On Wednesday, the investigation led them to the Stanwood man, Krusey said. Detectives believe the man was present during the killing and helped get rid of evidence.
He was booked into the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of rendering criminal assistance.
Anyone with additional information about the killing is asked to call Marysville police at 360-363-8313.
