MONROE – Police are looking for a man who broke into a pickup truck while the owners were in a travel trailer. The owner fought with the man before the suspect ran away.
Around 1:30 p.m., a couple was eating lunch in their trailer parked in the 19600 block of U.S.2, Monroe police spokeswoman Debbie Willis said.
They saw a man smash the window of their pickup truck and try to take a global positioning system, she said. The pickup truck’s owner confronted the man and a struggle followed.
The man, who police believe is around 18 to 22, is described as white, about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing about 140 pound, with short dark hair.
He dropped the GPS and ran off, Willis said.
Anyone with information is asked to call Monroe police at 360-794-6300.
