FEDERAL WAY — King County prosecutors have filed a first-degree murder charge against a Federal Way man accused of stabbing his girlfriend more than 100 times.
Prosecutor’s spokesman Dan Donohoe said Wednesday that 29-year-old Kenneth Mace remains jailed on $2 million bail. Arraignment was set for July 24.
In charging papers, detectives say Mace suffered little more than scratches when 20-year-old Mindy O’Meara was killed in a July 6 dispute at the couple’s mobile home.
Several knives, a barbecue spatula with serrated edges and a broken knife handle were found next to her body.
Mace gave officers conflicting accounts of what happened.
