MARYSVILLE — A 4-month-old baby likely has permanent brain damage after she was shook so hard her head flopped back and forth.
Prosecutors believe Jesse Boston, 23, is responsible for the infant’s injuries. He was charged Tuesday with second-degree assault of a child in Snohomish County Superior Court. He is being held on $100,000 bail.
Boston was watching his girlfriend’s three children Oct. 2 while she was at work. He allegedly told police the girl, who was then 2 months old, wouldn’t stop crying and he became frustrated.
He told police he bounced her on his knee until her eyes were “droopy,” Snohomish County deputy prosecutor Mark Roe wrote.
Boston waited more than an hour to call 911.
He is facing nearly four years in prison if he’s convicted.
