EVERETT — An Everett man is being accused of sexually assaulting a 7-year-old boy and authorities believe he may have abused other children, according to court papers filed Friday.
Christopher Permenter, 20, was charged with first-degree child rape and first-degree child molestation. Prosecutors allege that Permenter had been sexually assaulting a relative for more than two years. The boy reported the alleged abuse to his mother in September. The boy’s parents called police. Permenter was arrested Sept. 29.
Investigators interviewed the boy who reported multiple incidents of abuse, Snohomish County deputy prosecutor Chris Dickinson wrote.
Permenter allegedly told detectives that the boy was the one who initiated the sex and he only went along at the boy’s urging, court papers said.
Detectives spoke with another relative who alleged Permenter abused him a few years ago, Dickinson said. Prosecutors also are aware of two other allegations of criminal sexual misconduct by Permenter involving two different victims since 2008, court papers said.
Permenter remains jailed on $100,000 bail.
