A man driving a pickup that struck and killed a woman standing outside a Highway 99 bar Friday night was booked on a charge of vehicular homicide, Washington State Patrol officials said.
Troopers identified Anita Sharma, 31, of Mill Creek, as the woman who died in the 9:30 p.m. crash just north of the Mukilteo Speedway.
Sharma had been standing outside O’Finnigan’s Pub in the 13600 block of Highway 99 when a 2008 Toyota Tacoma pickup that was heading north drifted onto the sidewalk, troopers said. The pickup hit Sharma, along with parked cars and a light pole.
The 42-year-old Everett man driving the pickup was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence, Trooper Keith Leary said. The case is being investigated as vehicular homicide.
A pedestrian outside the pub and a patron inside were hit by flying debris, but not injured.
