MONROE — A 48-year-old man died Tuesday night after he was struck by a car on U.S. 2 in Monroe.
The man was walking on the highway between Fryelands Blvd. and 179th Avenue SE, said Debbie Willis, a Monroe Police Department spokeswoman. There were no crosswalks on this stretch of the roadway.
Meanwhile, an Audi Wagon was headed east on the highway around 7:45 p.m. The car struck the man. He was taken to EvergreenHealth Monroe where he later died, Willis said.
The driver, a 34-year-old Shoreline man, was not injured.
