OAK HARBOR — An Oak Harbor man died Thursday night after his car went off the road and hit an embankment, the Washington State Patrol reported.
The 88-year-old was driving by himself in a Nissan Maxima on East Fakkema Road near Taylor Road when the accident occurred at about 11:40 p.m., said trooper Mark Francis.
He was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where he died.
The man’s name was not released pending notification of his family. The accident remains under investigation.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
