STANWOOD — Police are investigating a car crash early this morning that killed a man near Stanwood.
The accident occurred just after midnight in the 7400 block of Happy Hollow Road NW, Snohomish County sheriff’s spokeswoman Rebecca Hover said.
The man, 21, was headed west in a Toyota sedan when he missed a corner, lost control and hit a tree, Hover said. The man died at the scene and no one else was in the car.
Detectives are investigating speed and alcohol as potential contributing factors in the crash, Hover said.
The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s office is expected conduct and autopsy and release the man’s identity.
