Man dies after truck crashes at Boeing softball fields

A delivery truck hit the softball field fence, where a Special Olympics competition was taking place.

EVERETT — A man who crashed a delivery truck at the Boeing Softball Fields in south Everett on Saturday died from a medical emergency, according to the Everett Police Department.

At around 11:30 a.m. Saturday, the man crashed into one or two other vehicles before hitting the field’s perimeter fence. The fence fell, hitting a woman. She received minor injuries and was taken to a hospital.

A Special Olympics softball competition was taking place at the field. None of the players were injured.

Medics attempted CPR on the driver but could not revive him.
