SEATTLE — The body of a man was found washed up on the shore of the Duwamish River in south Seattle on Saturday afternoon.
The body was discovered around 3 p.m. at Duwamish Waterway Park in the industrial area, police said. It had been in the water since Friday night, police said.
A dead pit bull puppy was found alongside the man.
It wasn’t immediately clear whether the man’s death was a homicide. There were no visible signs of trauma, the King County Medical Examiner’s Office said. An autopsy was scheduled for Monday.
Police were asking for the public’s help in identifying the body. The man was described as black, in his late 30s or early 40s, wearing a black and white shirt and jeans, with his hair braided into cornrows.
