BOTHELL — The man fatally shot by a deputy last week was identified as Adam Smith, the Snohomish County medical examiner said.
A Snohomish County sheriff’s deputy shot and killed Smith, 26, outside an apartment complex in the 20200 block of Bothell-Everett Highway.
The deputy was called to the apartment after a man was stabbed in the face with a screwdriver, police said. Smith is believed to have been the attacker.
The medical examiner determined that Smith died from a gunshot wound.
Detectives from the Snohomish County Multiple Agency Response Team are investigating the shooting.
