LAKE STEVENS — Detectives late Sunday were investigating an officer-involved shooting that left a man dead.
A domestic dispute call led officers to a home in the 10400 block of 25th Street SE near Lake Stevens shortly after 8 p.m., Everett police Sgt. Robert Goetz said.
The caller to 911 said the suspect may have been armed, he said.
Lake Steven police officers arrived on scene first. Snohomish county sheriff’s deputies also responded.
Late Sunday evening, Goetz went to the scene but said he had few details about what led to the gunfire.
Detectives believe a 23-year-old Lake Stevens police officer opened fire on the suspect, he said. The officer, whose name was not released, has less than three years law enforcement experience.
Detectives were working to piece together what happened. Investigators from the Snohomish County Multiple Agency Response Team were arriving late Sunday evening to start their investigation. The special team of detectives investigates police shootings in the county.
No details were released about the slain man. Aside from him, nobody else was injured during the incident, Goetz said.
