SEATTLE — Police say CPR by an officer as well as firefighters revived a 32-year-old man after he was pulled from the bottom of a hotel pool in Seattle.
The man and two friends had been drinking before they decided to go for a swim in the closed pool of the Holiday Inn Express near Seattle Center at about 3 a.m. Wednesday. He sank to the bottom, but his friends thought he was goofing around, and they kept swimming.
When a hotel worker told them to get out of the pool, they realized he needed help. The friends pulled him up while the hotel worker called 911.
The Seattle Police Department says two officers were nearby and arrived within seconds to find the man without a pulse. One performed chest compressions until firefighters arrived and took over.
The man was taken to Harborview Medical Center in stable condition and is reported to be recovering.
