EVERETT – A Snohomish County judge sentenced a Sultan man this afternoon to 15 years behind bars in the June gang killing of a teenager.
Judge Ronald Castleberry called the beating and stabbing death of Antonio Marks, 17, brutal and senseless.
He gave Marco Castillo, 20, the mid-range sentence called for in second-degree murder. Castillo pleaded guilty earlier this month.
Four other teenagers also are accused in the June 17 killing. All but one has entered guilty pleas.
Marco Castillo is the first to be sentenced. His brother, Adolfo Castillo, 17, is scheduled to be sentenced Tuesday.
