EVERETT — A man who died after being hit by a train in Everett earlier this week was identified Thursday as Austin Van Leuven, 18, of Everett.
Van Leuven died of head injuries and saltwater drowning, according to the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office. His death was ruled an accident.
He was struck about 7:45 p.m. Tuesday near Harborview Park and knocked into the water, according to police. Rescue crews recovered his body a short time later in Possession Sound, near the 1400 block of Madrona Avenue.
The incident is under investigation, Everett police spokesman Aaron Snell said Thursday.
