LAKEWOOD — A 34-year-old man was in critical condition Thursday after a logging accident near here.
The man was stuck in the head by a piece of a tree, said Scott Goodale, a battalion chief for the Marysville Fire District. The man was flown by helicopter to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. He was partially conscious when crews arrived.
The incident was reported about 12:10 p.m. in the area off Second Avenue NE, southwest of Smokey Point. It appeared to be a private logging operation, not a commercial endeavor, Goodale said.
