SPOKANE — The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office has taken a 27-year-old man into custody in connection with the slaying of a woman reported to be his girlfriend.
The sheriff’s office said Jason Hart surrendered to officers on Tuesday.
Law enforcement officers responded to a house in the Nine Mile Falls area near Spokane on Tuesday morning after another man called 911 to report that his roommate had killed a woman.
KXLY-TV reported that the dead woman was found in a plastic tub filled with acid inside a shed on the property. The victim was not immediately identified.
Five SWAT team members were evaluated after being exposed to some sort of vapor at the home. KXLY said the sheriff’s meth lab team and a fire department hazmat team responded but no meth lab was found.
