A Shoreline man who picked up a woman at a bus stop in 2003 was acquitted of second-degree rape and kidnapping this week.
A jury found Lamin Darboe, 38, not guilty after a lengthy trial in Snohomish County Superior Court.
The woman told police she had been at a north Everett bar, argued with her boyfriend and left alone. After ordering some takeout food, she realized she had missed the last bus to the Marysville area and accepted a ride from Darboe.
Everett defense lawyer Karen Halverson argued that the woman consented to sex with Darboe and was not kidnapped.
