SNOHOMISH — A Snohomish motorcyclist killed in a crash has been identified.
Alexander D. Winkler had been riding a motorcycle south “at a high rate of speed” on Springhetti Road when he crashed into the back of a car around 6 a.m. Friday, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.
Originally, the sheriff’s office reported the car was backing out of a driveway when the motorcycle clipped its back end. A correction issued Monday states the car had pulled out of the driveway, and it was going south on Springhetti, when the southbound motorbike struck the car’s back end.
Winkler died at the scene. He was 48.
The car’s driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with deputies.
