TULALIP — The Snohomish County Medical Examiner has released the identity of a Lake Stevens man who died in a two-vehicle accident Friday on the Tulalip Indian Reservation.
Terry Van Allen, 50, was a passenger in a Ford F-150 involved in the crash Friday afternoon on 27th Avenue NE.
The Ford pickup, driven by a 17-year-old boy, was traveling northbound when it veered to the right. It then appeared to over-correct and swerve into the southbound lane, according to a preliminary investigation by the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.
It went into the path of a Dodge Ram truck, which hit the passenger’s side of the Ford truck. Van Allen died at the scene.
It’s unknown what caused the Ford truck to wander to the right, but speed does not appear to be a factor in the collision, sheriff’s office bureau chief Kevin Prentiss said.
The other driver, 57, was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
