A Lynnwood man could face more than 5 years in prison after being charged Tuesday with operating an illegal drug lab in his home when children were present.
Aaron Caudill Tinsely, 29, had four children in his home when drug detectives searched his home Friday and found a clandestine laboratory that was then being used to manufacture methamphetamine, Snohomish County deputy prosecutor John Adcock alleged in Superior Court papers.
"Cooking" methamphetamine releases toxic chemicals and poses an explosion risk. The children, ages 5 to 13, found in Tinsley’s home had to undergo decontamination after the lab was discovered, officials said.
Tinsely was being jailed in lieu of $10,000 bail, but Adcock has requested that it be increased to $75,000.
"Given the nature of the offense and the defendant’s willingness to place children in danger by their presence during the dangerous production of methamphetamine, an increase in bail to $75,000 is justified," he wrote.
