MARYSVILLE — A house fire early Thursday morning sent one man to the hospital with second-degree burns, Marysville fire officials said.
Just after 5:30 a.m, the fire was reported at the home north of Jennings Park. When firefighters arrived, they found heavy black smoke pouring from the roof, according to the Marysville Fire District.
Two adults got out uninjured, while one man in his 30s suffered severe burns on his hands as well as smoke inhalation, according to the fire department. Paramedics rushed him to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.
Authorities estimated the damage to the house at $200,000. American Red Cross volunteers were helping the three residents displaced by the fire.
Investigators believe the fire started from a burning candle in a bedroom and advised caution when using them .
