EVERETT – A police drama that unfolded Thursday at a south Everett apartment wasn’t as dire as first advertised.
Neighbors heard a popping sound and feared gunfire around 5 p.m. They called 911. When officers arrived at the apartment complex near the 10400 block of Third Avenue SE, people started running, adding to the confusion.
Also on the scene were television news crews and a news helicopter hovering overhead.
A police dog was used to sweep the scene and heavily armed police officers went inside to check the building.
Officers interviewed people into the night.
So what was all the commotion about?
“This incident was a guy shooting a BB gun at a propane tank in his yard,” Sgt. Robert Goetz said Friday afternoon.
No one was arrested.
