EUGENE, Ore. — A man sleeping under an empty semi-trailer in Eugene died when a driver began to pull it.
Police spokeswoman Melinda McLaughlin says the incident was reported at about 3 a.m. Thursday. She says a driver returned to a loading dock with a full trailer. He disconnected it and then attached to the empty trailer.
When he started to pull the empty trailer, he discovered there had been a man underneath. The man was taken to a hospital, but could not be saved.
McLaughlin says the man’s name won’t be released until after his relatives are notified.
She says the incident remains under investigation.
