SEATTLE — The U.S. Marshals Service says its Pacific Northwest violent offender task force has arrested a man in Washington who has been sought for 10 years after being indicted on drug charges in Oregon.
In a statement, David Miller, the acting U.S. marshal for Western Washington, said 65-year-old Salvador Vasquez-Vasquez was arrested Monday in Kent. Deputy marshals had learned he had a new identity and was hiding with family members. He was arrested as he left his residence.
The marshals service said Vasquez-Vasquez has been a fugitive since 2003 after he was indicted in a multi-defendant case for possession of and conspiracy to distribute cocaine.
The statement says Vasquez-Vasquez is the last remaining defendant to be captured.
