EVERETT – A man was stabbed to death Friday afternoon in the parking lot of a store in north Everett.
Witnesses said the victim was arguing with another man over a parking space.
Everett police officers were called to the parking lot of the Market Basket in the 1900 block of Walnut Avenue just before 5:30 p.m. Officers found the victim in a silver-colored vehicle. Everett Fire Department medics took the man to Providence Everett Medical Center’s Colby Campus. The man died at the hospital.
He suffered a knife wound to the chest, officials said. His identity was not released.
Witnesses told police they saw the victim engaged in a verbal exchange with another man in the parking lot. Witnesses said the two were arguing over a parking space, though Everett police Sgt. Cheryl Braley could not confirm what the men were arguing about.
The suspect in the stabbing was seen leaving the parking lot in a late-model brown or bronze passenger car driven by a white woman.
The suspect is described as white, 20 to 35 years old, about 5 feet 11 inches tall, with a medium to muscular build and shoulder-length curly brown hair. He was wearing an off-white or gray T-shirt.
