MARYSVILLE – A man being sought in a bank robbery surrendered to police minutes after a SWAT team surrounded his house.
The man is being taken into custody and will be questioned by detectives in connection with a robbery at Wells Fargo Bank on Shoultes Road this morning
Employees reported that a man, armed with a gun and wearing a Halloween mask, demanded money then fled the bank once it was handed over. He was seen riding a bicycle and later spotted getting into a Jeep.
A witness spotted the Jeep in the 10600 block of 52nd Avenue NE. A SWAT team surrounded the house and yelled for the man to surrender. He came out a short time later.
Marysville-Pilchuck High School and Cascade Elementary School had been put in lockdown as a precaution. Roads into the neighborhood were barricaded as police prepared to negotiate with the man.
