SNOHOMISH — A bank robber suspected in a string of holdups apparently has hit another Snohomish County bank.
A disguised man robbed the Snohomish branch of Frontier Bank on Thursday afternoon, escaping with an undisclosed amount of money.
He walked into the bank around 4:45 p.m. in a flesh-colored rubber mask and a wig, FBI special agent Ray Lauer said. The robber showed a handgun and demanded money. There were no customers in the bank at the time.
Authorities believe he is one of two men responsible for five other bank robberies in north King and Snohomish counties since July. The two have taken turns robbing banks in costume, Lauer said.
Snohomish police arrived moments after the man left on foot. A tracking dog searched for the man but could find no trail.
The disguised robber is in his mid to late 20s, has a slim to medium build, and was last seen wearing a mask, gloves and a large black backpack.
A reward of $8,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the robbers. Call the Snohomish Police Department at 360-568-0888 or the FBI at 206-622-0460.
