Man who died while hiking identified

SULTAN — Officials have identified a man who died Sunday while hiking north of Sultan.

Richard W. Maehren, 53, of Lynnwood, died from natural causes, according to the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office.

His body was recovered near Copper Lake, on the south side of Big Four Mountain, between Sultan and the Mountain Loop Highway.
