FEDERAL WAY — The Washington State Patrol says a driver who pulled his passenger from a burning car on I-5 at Federal Way may face DUI charges.
The man, who has been identified as 21-year-old Jeffrey Gayton, who is stationed at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, suffered leg injuries in the early Saturday accident. But he was able to get out of the car and pull his passenger to safety. She is being treated for internal injuries at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
The News-Tribune reported that the State Patrol suspects alcohol or drugs and high speeds may have played a role in the crash.
