GOLD BAR — A man who was rescued Saturday after his boat overturned on the Skykomish River has died, according to police.
Two men were in the boat when it capsized on the river near Gold Bar shortly after 2 p.m.
One of the men was able to swim to shore. His friend later was found in the river not breathing, Gold Bar fire Lt. Brandon Vargas said.
The man was taken to EvergreenHealth Monroe, where he later died, said Lt. Todd Swenson of the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.
The man’s name and age were not made public as of Monday afternoon.
