Here is a list of activities planned for Veterans Day.
Arlington: A parade along Olympic Avenue is planned for 11 a.m. today by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1561 and Arlington American Legion Post 76. Lunch follows at 12:30 p.m. at 115 N. Olympic Ave. Free for vets, all others $5.
Everett: The Everett Senior Activity Center offers a United Service Organization dance from 1 to 6 p.m. today at 3025 Lombard St. Admission is free to all veterans, and refreshments will be available.
The Moonlight Swing Orchestra from Monroe will provide music for dancing, and there will be additional entertainment and military exhibits.
* Central Memorial Committee of Snohomish County offers its 88th annual Veterans Day Service at 11 a.m. today at the Eternal Flame at the Snohomish County Courthouse, 3000 Rockefeller Ave., Everett.
The guest speaker will be Cmdr. Stephen Donley, U.S. Navy. There will be a Dual Armed Drill exhibition by Sean Pyne and Daniel Serans of Mariner High School Navy Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps.
* Imagine Children’s Museum, 1502 Wall St., offers a Veterans Day Wall of Thanks from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today. Visitors can write the name of a family member or friend who is a military veteran on a square that will be attached to the wall. The goal is to have the decorated squares cover the length of the museum.
Lake Stevens: Members of American Legion Post 181 will be at several locations in the Lake Stevens area on Veterans Day to hand out red poppies and information about the holiday.
They also will be collecting donations to support programs such as American Legion Baseball, Boys State, Girls State, Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, Blue Star Service Banners, flag education, child safety and school visitations.
The veterans will be out from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Jay’s Market, Tom Thumb, Safeway, Albertsons and Haggen.
Lynnwood: VFW Post 1040 and American Legion Post 37 offer a joint Veterans Day ceremony at 11 a.m. today at Veterans Park, 19300 44th Ave. W.
* Golden Corral Family Steaks and Buffet offers a free dinner buffet for veterans and active-duty military personnel from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday at 1065 State Ave.
Mukilteo: The Future of Flight Aviation Center and Boeing Tour, 8415 Paine Field Blvd., offers free admission today to veterans and active-duty military members from the U.S. and Canada. Wear uniforms or bring military identification.
Boeing tours, which begin on the half-hour between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., will be offered on a space-available basis and cannot be reserved in advance. The Future of Flight Aviation Center and Boeing Tour is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Seattle: Iraq war veteran Matt Runte of Everett is organizing a veterans appreciation night at a downtown Seattle club.
All veterans and friends of veterans are invited tonight to McCoy’s Firehouse Bar &Grill, 173 S. Washington St., Seattle. A $5 donation will raise money for the Veterans Association Vet Center in Seattle.
Snohomish County: Support the Operation Santa program, which will collect food for troops today and Sunday at Top Food and Haggen food stores around the Puget Sound region. Donate items to send to deployed troops for the holidays.
Stanwood: Stanwood American Legion Post 92 offers a ceremony at 11 a.m. today at Josephine Sunset Home, 9901 272nd Place NW.
Sultan: A ceremony is planned for 11 a.m. today at the Veterans Memorial at the flag plaza on U.S. 2 and Main Street. A granite block to honor all veterans will be dedicated by the Sultan All Veterans Memorial Committee.
