Drinking remains a problem for nearly one in five 10th graders both in Snohomish County and across Washington, who reported having five or more drinks in a row at least once in the past two weeks.
More than a quarter of high school seniors locally and statewide said they had five or more drinks in a row in the past two weeks.
These finding were based on a survey of Washington students that asked about risky behaviors, from drug and alcohol use to involvement with gangs and problems with depression.
More than 210,000 public school students participated in the survey, part of a study conducted every two years by the state Department of Health of students in grades six, eight, 10 and 12.
