Kim Dahlquist, a 1984 graduate of Mariner High School, was named the Twin Falls School District’s Teacher of the Year.
Dahlquist has taught for 24 years in the 9,400-student district in Idaho, most recently at Robert Stuart Middle School, where she was commended for a new “Bear Essentials” class that teaches students organization skills, how to set goals and self-leadership. The sixth-grade class led to a decrease in failing grades.
Teaching is not her first career. She pursued an education degree after working in public relations in Seattle.
Dahlquist is the daughter of Betty Stallings and the late Clyde Stallings.
