A Martin Luther King Jr. rally and march planned for this morning in Everett has been canceled.
However, the community celebration scheduled for Comcast Arena at noon is still on, said Everett spokeswoman Kate Reardon. The free community celebration is planned in the arena’s Edward D. Hansen Conference Center and will include musical performances by local artists.
The Everett Police recommended the city not hold the annual rally and march because they didn’t want to put motorcycle officers or marchers on the slushy streets, she said.
