EVERETT — Traffic signal work at the I-5 and 116th Street NE interchange in Marysville will partially close ramps this weekend.
State transportation crews will limit access to the ramp starting 9 p.m. Friday through 2 a.m Saturday, weather permitting.
Work was delayed due to snowfall.
“If there is snowfall predicted for Friday once again, we could see another delay,” Elizabeth Mount, a Department of Transportation spokesperson wrote in an email. “It would need to reach a threshold of plow drivers needing to plow the work zone for it to be delayed again.”
When the eastbound 116th Street Northeast on-ramp onto northbound I-5 is closed, motorists can access the northbound freeway from westbound 116th Street Northeast.
The westbound 116th Street Northeast to southbound I-5 on-ramp will close. People should access southbound I-5 from eastbound 116th Street Northeast.
Drivers looking to exit the interstate at milepost 202 will also be impacted. When the southbound I-5 off-ramp is closed, people will be asked to exit westbound 116th Street Northeast. When the northbound I-5 off-ramp is closed, motorists will exit to eastbound 116th Street Northeast.
Delays are expected, a state Department of Transportation press release stated.
