Marysville police arrest man in stabbing

MARYSVILLE — Police have arrested a Marysville man who allegedly stabbed his neighbor during a dispute over a barbecued fish.

The two men were arguing about who got the first bite when the suspect, 39, allegedly used a butcher knife to stab the victim, 35, in the stomach, said Marysville Police Department Cmdr. Robb Lamoureux.

The stabbing occurred Saturday afternoon in the 3700 block of 121st Street NE in Marysville, Lamoureux said.

The victim was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where he was in stable condition Tuesday. He is expected to recover from his injuries, Lamoureux said.

The suspect was arrested early Sunday morning and booked into the Snohomish County Jail on suspicion of first-degree assault. Police did not say whether either man got a taste of the grilled fish.

Injured motorist airlifted to Harborview: One person was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle Tuesday night after a two-car collision at the intersection of 67th Avenue NE and 58th Street NE.

The wreck happened about 6 p.m., Marysville Fire Department spokesman Nathan Trauernicht said. Information about the person’s condition was not available due a federal health privacy law.
