MARYSVILLE — The Marysville School Board this week announced that Acting Superintendent Jason Thompson will continue to lead the district for the next school year.
Becky Berg recently stepped down as superintendent, months after having a noncancerous brain tumor removed. She’s been on medical leave since January. Thompson, the deputy superintendent, has filled in.
The school board hired Thompson as interim superintendent through June 30, 2019. This fall, the board plans to begin a search for a permanent superintendent, according to a news release.
Thompson has been deputy superintendent since 2016 and previously worked as director of human resources for the Marysville School District and superintendent of the Newport School District.
