Energy conservation at Marysville schools has added up.
The Marysville School Board was presented with a $82,659 check by Snohomish PUD Commissioner David Aldrich at its meeting Monday night. The rebate is for energy savings at the district’s schools.
Aldrich noted several energy-efficiency aspects of Marysville Getchell High School, including lighting, heating and ventilation features built into the school which opened in September.
“Collectively these measures represent nearly 350,000 kilowatt hours of annual savings while reducing the district’s electricity bill by $24,705,” he said.
The money will go into the capital projects fund to be reinvested into continued energy conservation efforts, said Jodi Runyon, executive assistant to the superintendent.
