Emily Wicks was named Marysville’s Volunteer of the Month for October.
Wicks jumped in at the last minute to lead the 2018 “Stuff the Bus” drive that collected school supplies for more than 450 Marysville and Tulalip students. She also coordinated the distribution of materials to students. Wicks is the communications and community relations coordinator for the Marysville School District, but these were volunteer roles.
An active volunteer, Wicks has also served on the city’s Diversity Advisory Committee and with the Marysville Together Coalition. She developed promotional materials for the Marysville Police “Coats for Kids” drive currently underway, and she has been a longtime volunteer for the Marysville Community Food Bank.
Wicks, who grew up in Marysville, is a member of Marysville Rotary and a graduate of Leadership Snohomish County.
