Authorities have recovered the body of a Marysville woman who drowned while trying to save a standout high school soccer player in the Columbia River at Crescent Bar, near Quincy.
The body of 22-year-old Jose Abraham Flores Torres of Quincy was recovered Sunday and the body of 45-year-old Vicki Lynn Lervick of Marysville was recovered yesterday.
They had been boating on July 31st when Flores reportedly fell in the water and Lervick jumped in to try to rescue him. Neither was wearing a life jacket.
The pair were presumed drowned but search-and-rescue personnel from Grant and Douglas counties, aided by a Washington State Patrol aircraft, had been unable to find the bodies.
