SPOKANE — A Mead school bus driver who had been disciplined, but not fired, for calling girls “hot” and slapping them on the rear resigned Thursday just before KXLY-TV aired a story about him.
The Spokane station’s investigation found he was reprimanded and given another bus route last year after calling a high school girl “hot,” then suspended for three days early this year for inappropriate contact with two sixth-grade girls.
The district sent a letter to parents of Evergreen Elementary students on Wednesday telling them about the allegations. The driver denied the allegations and disputed the findings of the district’s investigation.
