EDMONDS — The Edmonds-to-Kingston ferry run was reduced to a one-boat schedule Monday as crews worked to repair the Walla Walla.
Problems with ferry’s bearings in the propeller shaft forced ferry officials to pull the Walla Walla out of service, Washington State Ferries spokeswoman Susan Harris said.
It will likely take two weeks to fix the problem, officials said.
Several options to return the route to full service were being explored but no solution was announced Monday afternoon.
Officials may move ferries from other routes to fill in for the Walla Walla.
Ferry wait times in Edmonds and Kingston backed up to two hours Monday morning.
The Edmonds-to-Kingston ferry run is used by commuters and commercial traffic between the I-5 corridor and the Olympic Peninsula.
