MEDFORD, Ore. — The case of a man accused of killing his wife is going to a Southern Oregon jury.
The Medford Mail Tribune reports closing arguments were made Tuesday, setting up jury deliberations in the case of Bourne Huddleston, 45, a former Marine gunnery sergeant.
Huddleston testified Tuesday that his wife, Kristy, shot herself.
He said it happened in their bedroom, he heard the shots, took her pulse and felt nothing, and then she began to flail about. He said he shoved her down and fled, leaving her with their 10-year-old son.
Prosecutors say Huddleston’s wife and his girlfriend were pressuring him over his relationships.
A medical examiner says Kristy Huddleston couldn’t have killed herself because her head wound showed no searing, soot or powder around the wound.
