EDMONDS — Edmonds police were called to the 8000 block of 234th Street SW Sunday afternoon after they received a report of an intoxicated woman armed with a pistol.
The woman told police she was despondent and that her boyfriend had assaulted her. Police evacuated neighbors and brought in a crisis negotiator, who talked with the woman for about three hours until she surrendered.
The woman was taken into custody without trouble, and police confiscated several firearms from the residence. Edmonds police are still investigating the incident.

Accident victim identified: The man who died following a collision with a vehicle at Burke Avenue and Highway 9 on Saturday has been identified by the King County Medical Examiner’s Office as Andrew Jones. The office could not provide a hometown for Jones, 31, who was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle after the accident. He died several hours later.
