INDEX — The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified a Texas woman who fell into the Skykomish River near Sunset Falls on June 27.
The medical examiner reported Thursday that Shauna R. Geffon, 25, of Houston, drowned. Her death was determined to be an accident.
The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team and Search and Rescue units recovered her body earlier this week in the South Fork of the Skykomish River east of Index.
The woman had been with family at the river, according to the sheriff’s office. They reported her missing after she disappeared while sitting on a rock.
